Artist Biography
I’m a Gloucestershire-based mixed media artist and tutor of over twenty-two years, inspired by the joy of expression through printed and painted surfaces.
I have a BA(Hons) Art and English (subject specialism Painting and Printmaking) and a PGCE in Art and Design KS3/KS4 Teaching and I hold an Arts Award Facilitator qualification.
My work as an artist is ultimately informed by live connections with the cycle of nature’s seasons (I also work as a Forest School facilitator), and a deep spiritual connection with the Earth.
This joy of creating is carried through into my varied lively workshops that I run locally they indoors and outside as a Community Artist; aimed at nurturing individual, confidence and well-being, creating community and inviting intuitive flow into our busy lives.
My personal art pieces are based around the exploration of light & dark, positive and negative forms and the interplay of pattern and colour. The dynamics of colour, layered application and the push-pull of shape is a never ending fascination for me.
Carefully observed forms and intuitive shape guide my process alongside a playful approach to materials and Nature’s awe-inspiring beauty.
